Why Ayana Is the Top Line on Our Pickup Board

Komodo Airport Transfer is a ground operator based in Labuan Bajo — every pickup we run goes through one coordination system, so we know exactly where our guests stay. Ayana Komodo leads that board by a wide margin, with around 75 recorded pickups, ahead of Katamaran, Sudamala and Meruorah. That volume matters to you for one practical reason: our drivers make this run daily. They know the resort’s drop-off routine, when the lobby fills with boat groups returning from the park, and how much time to allow when you have a departure flight on the other end.

The Route: Komodo Airport to Ayana Komodo

Komodo Airport sits on the edge of Labuan Bajo town. From the terminal, the road drops toward the waterfront, passes through town, then follows the coast out to Waecicu Beach, where Ayana stands on its own stretch of shoreline with a private jetty in front of it. In normal traffic the drive takes about 15 minutes; in the busy late-afternoon window it can stretch slightly longer, and we build that into your pickup schedule rather than leaving you to gamble on it.

There is no metered taxi rank at the airport and no Ayana shuttle counter inside the terminal, which is why most Ayana guests pre-book. Booking ahead means the fare is agreed in writing and the car is already positioned when your bags come off the belt.

What the Pickup Looks Like

  • We track your flight. Send your flight number when you book. If the Bali connection runs late, your driver adjusts to the new landing time — you never walk out to an empty curb.
  • Name board at arrivals. Your driver stands at the arrivals exit holding your name, helps with luggage, and walks you straight to the car.
  • English-speaking driver. Our drivers work with international guests every day and can brief you on the town, restaurant timing and boat-morning logistics during the ride.
  • Optional fast-track. Tight schedule, family with young children, or a VIP arrival? Add our fast-track arrival service and be through the terminal minutes after touchdown.

Choosing a Vehicle for the Ayana Run

Every car comes with a professional driver — the full list is on our fleet page. For Ayana bookings we most often send:

Vehicle Best for
Toyota Innova Couples and small families — up to 4 guests with standard luggage
Toyota Fortuner Guests who prefer a higher SUV ride on the coastal road
Alphard-class MPV VIP arrivals — captain seats, extra privacy, honeymooners
Toyota Hiace Larger groups and dive parties — up to 10 guests with gear

If your party splits across a resort stay and a boat trip, tell us once — we schedule the vehicles as one job so nobody stands around at the terminal working out who rides where.

Ayana’s Private Jetty — How the Boat Day Fits Together

Ayana Komodo has its own private jetty directly in front of the resort, which makes it one of the easiest bases in Labuan Bajo for a Komodo National Park boat day. The typical plan: we drive you from the airport to Ayana on arrival day, you rest, and the next morning you board at the jetty for Padar, Pink Beach, the dragons or Manta Point, depending on your itinerary.

One thing we keep clear with every guest: we are the ground team. The boats themselves — open trips, private charters, liveaboards — are operated by our sister company Komodo Luxury. You can join an open trip boat tour to Komodo National Park with Komodo Luxury, and their crew coordinates departure points with Ayana daily. If your boat happens to leave from the town harbor instead of the resort jetty, we cover that leg too — see our airport and harbor transfer service.

Budget note for the park itself: the Komodo National Park entrance fee is USD 40 per person, paid once per trip — not per day — and a drone permit is USD 130, also one-time. Neither is part of any transfer fare; your boat operator walks you through payment on the day.

Other Ayana Runs We Cover

The airport pickup is only the first leg for most guests. Over a typical Ayana stay, the same team handles:

  • Ayana to the town harbor and back — for boats that depart from the marina rather than the resort jetty.
  • Evening runs into Labuan Bajo — dinner on the waterfront, then back to Waecicu; quoted on WhatsApp when you book.
  • Departure transfers — Ayana to Komodo Airport, timed against your flight with a sensible buffer for check-in.
  • Overland Flores — Ayana works well as the start or end point of a Wae Rebo village stay (a two-day, one-night arrangement with an overnight in the village — it is not a day trip) or a longer drive east; ask us on WhatsApp and we will map the days honestly.

What the Transfer Costs

Airport–Ayana fares depend on the vehicle and timing, so we quote them on WhatsApp: you receive a written price before you land, and that price does not change at the curb. If you would rather keep the car, an Innova with an English-speaking driver-guide runs about USD 95 (±IDR 1,500,000) for a full day — enough for the Ayana drop plus a loop through Batu Cermin cave, the Melo hills or a sunset viewpoint before check-in.

Booking Your Ayana Transfer

Send three things on WhatsApp: your flight number, your date, and the word “Ayana”. We reply with the fare and vehicle options, confirm your driver, and you land knowing exactly who is waiting outside. Message us at +62 811 3810 5742 — the same team behind those 75 Ayana pickups on the board.
