Our early-morning protocol is purpose-built for the 04:00–06:00 window when nothing else in Labuan Bajo runs reliably.

You book online or via WhatsApp with your hotel pickup point, your marina drop-off, and the liveaboard vessel name. We log the vessel’s ETA at the gangway.
Night before. Driver receives the assignment with hotel, time, vessel, and any dive-gear notes. They pre-position by sleeping at home if local, or in a designated overnight room if their home village is more than 30 minutes away.
T-30 minutes. Driver arrives at your hotel, parks at the front entrance, signals the night security with a low headlight flash so you are not waiting in the dark.
Pickup. You and your dive group exit the lobby. Bags loaded in five minutes — Hiace handles 14 large dive bags without compromise, Innova handles 4–6.
Drive to marina. Coastal road from any Zone A hotel to Bajo Marina is 6–10 minutes pre-dawn (no traffic). From Zone B (Plataran, Ta’aktana) it is 18 minutes. From Zone C (AYANA, Sudamala) it is 22–25 minutes.
Marina arrival. Driver coordinates with the vessel’s deckhand for the last-minute gangway timing. Bags handed off at the dock. The boat is on its way before 06:00.
Round-trip return. If your booking is round-trip, the same driver collects you from the marina at the cruise’s return ETA — typically 14:00–16:00 four days later.

Captain seats, premium audio, A/C, and crucially the luggage rack and cargo space for full BCDs, regulator bags, fin bags, dry bags, and a couple of underwater camera housings. Dive gear hauling is free in Hiace — no extra charge for >3 sets the way some operators stack it.

Which marina do most liveaboards depart from?

Yes. When you book, we ask for the vessel name and the dive operator (Diveligo, Lazuli, Sundancer, Indo Siren, Wanderlust, Coralia, etc.). We confirm the gangway ETA with their dock crew the day before. If the vessel is delayed, we hold the pickup. If it leaves early (rare but happens with weather), we adjust pickup time.

Is breakfast included?
On Hiace and Alphard bookings, yes — a cold breakfast box and thermos are included free. On Innova bookings, complimentary bottled water and a piece of fruit are included; full breakfast box is +$8 if added at booking. Most early-morning travellers prefer the Hiace’s included box.

What if I oversleep?
The driver waits 30 minutes free at your hotel. After that, $5 per 15 minutes for additional waiting. If you miss your liveaboard gangway, we coordinate with the dive operator on your behalf to negotiate a pickup at the next anchor point (additional speedboat charges apply, paid directly to the dive operator). It is rare — most groups make it.
