Sylvia Resort Komodo sits on a quiet ridge above Labuan Bajo’s harbour, 3.8 kilometres from Komodo International Airport. The drive takes twelve minutes in normal traffic — slightly longer if you land during the morning ferry rush at Pelabuhan Marina.

Your driver leaves the airport, follows Jalan Yos Sudarso along the waterfront, then turns inland onto Jalan Pante Pede. The final approach climbs a moderate gradient to the resort’s hilltop gate — which is exactly why guests choose this property in the first place. The view from the lobby is the same view you spent the flight imagining.

At the gate, our driver radios the resort’s bell desk. Sylvia Resort is a 60-room property opened in 2019, part of the small Indonesian Sylvia hotel group. The hilltop location gives every room a sea view across Labuan Bajo bay — at sunset, the property faces directly into the colour show. The infinity pool sits on a terrace cantilevered over the slope, and the open-air restaurant Reno’s serves Flores-Indonesian fusion alongside a wood-fired pizza menu.

Sylvia does not run an airport shuttle. The hotel’s own concierge will quote you a one-way transfer at IDR 350,000–500,000 through their vendor partner — and that vendor is, in many cases, us, billed onward at a hotel margin.

The curb taxis outside LBJ arrivals will quote IDR 200,000–300,000, refuse to use a meter, and frequently invent a “luggage surcharge” once you’re seated. Grab is unreliable in Labuan Bajo — Komodo Airport’s geofence rejects most pickups, and surge pricing during peak arrival hours has been seen to push a 3.8 km trip past IDR 400,000.

The final 400 metres of approach road climbs a moderate hill to the hilltop gate. Our drivers handle it daily — no issue for any of our vehicles. Walking up with luggage is the issue we solve.

Will my driver wait if my flight is delayed?
Yes. We track your inbound flight from departure airport in real time. If your arrival pushes from 14:00 to 16:00, your driver shows up at 16:00. The first 30 minutes after wheels-down are included.

Can the driver wait while we shop for water at the supermarket on the way?

Does Sylvia accept early check-in?
